YouTube is the only platform that actually allows you to count down before skipping the ad and moving on to what you really want to watch.
I don’t know about you, but I spend more time watching the counter count down than I do the ad itself.
Of course, YouTube can count the ad as being seen if you spend more than five seconds with it. Which you’re forced to do even though you didn’t spend five seconds watching the ad.
You spent five seconds watching the counter.
Which makes the counter the most watched “advertising” device on YouTube.
Advertising execs will soon figure this out. And they will start putting ads within the counter itself.
